Joanna Poitier, of JSP Interiors, Inc., presents her latest project in which she transformed this ranch home into an elegant yet warm living space.

Pictured are a few spaces she created which showcase various ways that antique and traditional elements have been blended in fresh and current ways.

Poitier, who is also in a creative partnership with Janet Rodriguez of Embroidery Palace and Florio Collection, incorporated both lines in this beautiful home located within a gated community in Rancho Santa Fe, California.

This 15,000 square foot household is covered in Florio’s Linen Collection, which is made of 100% linen. The windows are covered in richly handmade embroidered drapery panels and the ottoman is upholstered in Florio linen. The trendy bar stools are also covered in the collection and include ornate yet graceful embroidered details by Embroidery Palace.

The designer reinvented timeless antiques through Villa Melrose Antiques and topped the design with a chandelier from the heart of Italy.

Remaining fabrics throughout the space are from Trend, eclectic artwork is by the famous Bottero, carpets are by Stark, and fabrication was performed by Silvermoon Decor.

Talk about history!

Featured in the June 2012 issue of Traditional Home Magazine is one of Rose Tarlow’s original cotton fabrics…Bloomsbury.

Page 24 shows the pattern in the Kiwi colorway, however, the fabric is also available in Merlot and Saffron. It has been a great success over the years, and really is the perfect summer pattern!

Renowned interior designer, Albert Hadley, who was known for his bold and creative eye, talks about this classic fabric.

Thomas Jayne from New York quoted the legendary designer on this equally historic pattern, stating “Albert Hadley once spoke to me about what makes a beautiful chintz.  He said it must be well-drawn-like a work of art.  It should have architecture-meaning the design is ordered and ideally a stripe or other geometric pattern.  And the colors must be good! This print works because it represents these qualities well, and there is an almost gauzy softness, without being mushy, that makes it up-to date.” It couldn’t have been described any better!

Visit the Rose Tarlow website to get a more in-depth description of the pattern, as well as the rest of her beautiful collection.
